I don’t believe in coincidences. I knew the day I met Greg Gary that fate was in play. A single mother of two young boys, I was looking for a job that would allow me to be out in time to pick them up from school. I treasured our afternoons together, and was willing to eat my pride if it meant continuing to have that time with my children. I had a Master’s degree in Media Psychology, a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Criminology, and was trying to get my own freelance website and marketing business off the ground. Still, a 9-5 wasn’t going to work for me, waiting until 6pm to see my children every day when I had been a stay-at-home-mom – the thought broke my heart. I found myself applying to a local diner, knowing that they would close after the lunch rush, leaving me plenty of time to see my children while working on my freelance work.

After speaking with the owner for a few minutes, I turned to leave the diner. A patron stopped me, asking if I would wait outside for a moment while he retrieved a business card. He had overheard part of my conversation with the diner owner, and asked me why I was applying there. I explained the situation with my children; he told me to email him my resume on Monday.

The twilight zone theme echoed in my head as I looked down at the business card he handed me: GG@Gracetitle.net

GG.

As I got into my car, my eyes flooded with tears. GG, what we called my late Grandfather Gerry, one of my absolute favorite people in this world, who had recently passed away. Little did I know at the time, but my GG was guiding me straight to my guardian angel: Greg Gary.

Upon reading my resume and learning of my particular skill set, Greg created a position in his title company for me. A man of God who put family first, he graced me with a priceless gift: the flexibility to continue enjoying my afternoons and summer breaks with my sons, to continue the joy of watching them grow up, of having every possible moment to be their Mom. As it turns out, he also gifted me with my dream job.

My work with Greg Gary has evolved into a fluid, highly creative collaboration. I am the Executive Assistant of Business Marketing for his title company, Grace Title, Inc, but I am also his go to for all things marketing and creative for his other ventures, both business and philanthropic. More than a boss, Greg has become my mentor, helping me grow my own gifts and passions, which has led to a flood of insight, passion, and vision for us both. It is in this landscape that The Central Florida Source was born, the culmination of our shared passions and desire to serve our community.
